since my blog is called books for me I figured that this would be another place for me to track what I'm currently reading. I already belong to librarythang and have a living social visual book shelf on my facebook page, so I'm pretty well covered but since I read a lot and don't always get to write everything down immediately this might be another place for me to post what I'm reading.
Adult:
Shoot the damn dog : a memoir of depression / Sally Brampton
Night fall [cassette] / by Nelson DeMille
Young Adult(YA):
Saga / by Conor Kostick
Juvenile:
The case of the peculiar pink fan / Nancy Springer
I'll try to come back and give mini reviews once I'm done reading them.

7 1/2 Habits
One of my post is suppose to be about being a lifelong learner.
#2 of the 23 Things was to watch a tutorial called "Seven and 1/2 Habits of Highly Successful Lifelong Learners" which talked about what it means to be a lifelong learner, ways that we learn, and obviously the 7 1/2 Habits they have.
So, I'm suppose to post about which of the habits I find the easiest and hardest for me and why.
I would suppose that viewing problems as a challenge might be my hardest habit. I find this difficult because I can often get bogged down with the problem and not focus on the fact that this can be a chance for me to learn.
I thing that the easiest habit for me is to mentor/teach. This is likely because my educational background is in teaching. It might also be because I'm a bit like little Lisa Simpson "the answer to a question nobody asked" meaning I love telling people about things and showing them how something works and explaining every aspect. Thus my current job.

23 things
I created this blog because the library I work for created a learning program called "23 Things" to encourage it's staff to move into a Libraries 2.0 model, which is all about libraries and librarians using the new web 2.0 technologies to stay connected with their patrons.
#3 of the 23 Things is to create a blog and post our learning experiences as we complete the other 20 task.
